Visiting

Let's just say I never thought I would be visiting Fort Wayne. It's definitely a weird feeling because I will be leaving in a week to go back to Washington. That's something I'm not used to. I'm used to visiting other places and coming home to Fort Wayne. I'm still getting used to that whole idea. It is definitely nice being home. I didn't realize how homesick I was until I got home. I missed my family and friends more than I knew. Ryan and I are planning to come again in August. He is jealous I'm here without him. He misses the family also. I've definitely been busy since I've been home. I have a full schedule all next week, as well. I hope next time I make the trip home it can be a little more relaxing. So tonight I will be going to a wedding. My best friend Laura is getting married. It's going to be very exciting and fun. I'm looking forward to it. People from where I used to work will be there so at least I won't have to sit alone. So I just turned 27 2 days ago. That's even closer to 30. It's weird. I don't feel older, not yet anyways. Ryan will be turning 28 in 6 days. Ha, he's even closer to 30 than I am. So anyways. Things in Washington are about the same. I've been working a lot. I have definitely decided that I miss labor and delivery, and I don't want to work in the ER anymore. So at this time, I will stick it out in the ER, because I'm not sure where we will be headed in a few months. Ryan will be assigned to a new boat in September. We're not sure if he will be reassigned to a boat in Washington or if they will move us somewhere else. So until I have that answer, I will stick with the ER. If we stay in Washington, then I'm going to seek out a job in labor and delivery. They have a position posted right now. It's a full time position. I'm not really interested in a full time position because I like the flexibility of per diem. I can say when I don't want to work. I put the restrictions on my hours I'm available. I like that. So I will just keep looking out. If we end up moving, then I will look for a labor and delivery job. Everything is all up in the air. It's a little frustrating. I'm a planner. I like having things planned out and knowing what I'm doing. Now, I just have to go with the flow. So that's the job situation. Um, the weather in Washington isn't fantastic. It's mild. So that means it's in the 50's most of the time. I like it hot. I'm home in the Fort, and temperatures are reaching high 80's low 90's. It's just another thing that Ryan and I have to pus through. We can deal with the weather for now. At least we are together. That is the most important thing. Ok, so I'm still pregnant. I will be 8 weeks tomorrow. I haven't seen a doctor yet. My insurance doesn't change until June 1st. I was going to make an appointment, but I got distracted with packing and cleaning my house. I know, it's silly. I will make an appointment as soon as I get home. We haven't decided if we're going to find out what we're having yet. Not sure if we're going to be surprised at delivery or find out before hand so people know what to buy for. I don't necessarily have to know at this point. It's too early to see anyways, but if we were able to find out right now, it wouldn't be my top priority. So the pregnancy thing is going well. I can't even tell a difference. I'm not showing yet. I still look the same. I haven't had any morning sickness yet. Hopefully I will pass right by that. So far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the rest of the pregnancy goes well also. It's still early, so things can change in the blink of an eye. Plus, having worked in labor and delivery, I know what can go wrong. I'm still praying my house sells. The roof looks fabulous. I really haven't had any showings lately. It's been depressing. It just doesn't seem like lots of people are looking at this time. I'm hoping once school is out, people will be out looking again. I told Ryan we are going to live in Navy housing until my house sells. I don't want 2 house payments. That's too much. So, I think that is about it for now. It's good to be home. Now I have to go get ready to see more of my friends.

Expecting

Ladies and gentlemen. If you haven't heard, I'm hear to tell you. There is a little baby growing in my belly. It's very early along in the pregnancy so things are still new and unreal. I guess at this stage of the pregnancy, my baby has a little tadpole tail. Very cute. I should be due around January 9 or 10. I still need to go see a doctor. I had to get better insurance through the Navy. I only had Tricare standard and needed Tricare prime. So it doesn't take effect until June 1. So I will make an appointment after that. Ryan and I are both very excited. It took several days for Ryan to actually believe me. He was in denial and shock for a while. I think he's coming around. He emailed me some weblinks about what to eat and what not to eat. So he's definitely thinking about it. So this will be my parent's 3rd grandbaby and Ryan's parent's 1st grandbaby. Everyone is very excited. So anyways, we have a lot to think about. Our apartment is WAY too small for an addition to our family. It's only 2 bedrooms, and the second room is already full. I have a bed in there. Ryan thinks we should get rid of the bed, but I said no because I want to have a bed for visitors. We need at least 3 bedrooms. It's going to be so exciting when we go shopping for cribs and car seats and the most exciting things are clothes. I love baby clothes. I always loved buying clothes for my niece and nephew. No I get to buy clothes for my own baby. Yay! I went crazy taking pictures of Logan. I can only imagine how I'll be with my own baby. I think it's also cool my best friend Angie is having a baby in October. Then Dustin and Jackie are due in November. 3 babies all due real close together. I'll have to visit home often so they can be best friends. We can have baby play dates. How cute is that!? Once our little bundle of joy arrives, I have 2 furry babies that will be starving for attention. I'm going to have to make sure I give them both attention so their jealousy doesn't rage out of control. So, anyways. That's what is new. Now more than ever I wish my house would sell. The new beautiful roof is in place. Now it's all in God's hands. I don't know what more I can do. So please pray with me. Pray my house sells very soon. I could use that money and put it towards paying off bills and buying things my baby needs. Well, I have to work tonight. So I'm going to get off of here. We love everyone back home. Miss you all.

Waiting

Well, I've gone through my first 2 weeks of orientation. I have 3 left. My manager originally said she wanted me to have 4 weeks of orientation since I haven't been in the ER for a year and a half, but when I got the schedule, she put me down for 5 weeks of orientation. I guess that's ok. I'm pretty much good now. I know what I should be doing. I know how the computer system works. I know how things run in their ER. Even my preceptor thought I was doing a great job. She told my manager there's nothing she can teach me that I don't already know. Oh well. At least it's full time. So the next 3 weeks I'll be working from 5pm-3:30am. I don't have to get up early anymore. I went to bed last night around 1 because I have been going to bed around 10 or 11. I still woke up early. My body is now used to going to bed early and getting up early. I have to retrain it. Of course, I won't always be working evenings or nights. I will also work days after my orientation is over. So I guess I'll be confusing my body for a while. I think the more and more I work there, the more and more I miss labor and delivery. Maybe if it was a bigger ER and more exciting things rolled through the door, it might be better. I'll tough through it. So with my new schedule, Ryan and I will only see each other briefly. Plus, we won't be going to bed at the same time anymore. That's just they way nursing is. You don't get normal shifts. So yesterday I got to Skype with Dustin and Jackie and Angie. I really like being able to see my family and friends since I'm so far away. Not everyone has a camera in their computer so we can't Skype, or some people have been too lazy to download Skype. You know who you are. You know me well enough to know I hate the busy excuse. No one, I mean no one is that busy. Trust me. You find time. So April is over. The $8000 is no longer in effect. I'm really nervous about my house. I actually have a showing tomorrow which makes me feel better. People are still looking at houses regardless if they get the $8000 or not. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying and praying. There is now a new roof on my house. From what I could see, it looks really good. I've been told it looks really good also. I can't wait to see it in person. I can wait to pay my grandma back. I'm dreading that. It makes my stomach ache knowing how much money has been put into the house just so it will sell and how much I will be losing. The housing market is so awful right now. There are so many houses out there for sale that buyers have plenty of options. I really hope since I got a new roof that it will sell. I mean, why wouldn't it. It has a new roof, new carpet and linoleum, fresh paint in every room, the landscaping isn't that bad, it's move in ready. It has to sell because I'm not going to rent it out. I don't want all the money that has been put in it to go to waste. Renters can be awful. So I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it will sell. So, it's still a little chilly here. It's been in the 50's. I don't know when or if it ever gets warm here. I need warm weather. I like wearing flip flops and capris. I can't do that when it's in the 50's. What's really depressing is I haven't been able to put my top down on my car yet. The reason I got a convertible was so I could put the top down when it was nice and warm outside. I haven't been able to do that yet. Ryan also mention wanting to be able to put his top down on his jeep. We both have talked about wanting warmer weather. We don't want to be here forever. Don't get me wrong, Washington is definitely beautiful, but it's not warm enough for me. If I'm going to move away from home, I want to move somewhere warm. So Ryan is going to be calling his detailer soon so we have an idea of how long we might be in Washington. Ryan only has 2 years left in his contract. Not sure if we'll be in Washington for those 2 years or not. I don't even know if Ryan is going to re-enlist or not. He doesn't know either. I think he should decide soon considering the Navy will pay for schooling if that's what he decides to do. Sometimes he just needs a little push in order to make decisions. Maybe that's why he married me. I don't know. Well, I'm going to go get things done before I have to work tonight. We love everyone and can't wait to see you.
