That's Right!
So there's not much to update everyone on. Everything is still about the same. Things are going well at my new job. Ryan is still in school learning sonar stuff. Not sure if he passed the 2nd class petty officer exam yet. Not sure exactly when he will find out. I'm sure he's anxious to know the results. If he makes 2nd class, he'll get a raise. That's always good. We like money. Anyone who says they don't like money is lying. I'm not saying it runs our life, but it helps us live. So anyways. Right now we are sitting on the couch watching some tv. Just enjoying each others company. We both worked today. Well, I worked. Ryan sat through 8 hours of school. That could be pretty tiring. Sitting there listening to lectures all day. No thanks. So, let's see. What else would you like to know? It's still a little chilly here. We've been in the mid to high 50's maybe low 60's. I think it's real mild all year round. I don't think it ever get's hot here. That is a little depressing. I like warm weather. Oh, well. As long as it's not 50's all year round, I'll be ok. I'll be ok no matter what. I exaggerate a little. Ok, that's it for now. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know we love you and miss you. Don't forget us. We think about everyone every day.

Whadya Know!?
Hello my fellow friends and family. Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I'm sure you're all dying to know what's going on in the world of the Edwards. Well, I am now a working woman. Woot woot! I now work in the ER. I'm in orientation right now. The first 2 weeks are on days. So I have to get up early. I've been getting up around 6am. It sucks, but once I'm up I'm good. So I have one more week of orientation on days then I go to evenings. I'll be working 5pm to 3:30am. I don't think many people work 12s here. I'm a 12 hour shift kind of girl. Seems like there's lots of 8-10 hour shifts. So it's a relatively small ER. There's only 13 beds in the ER. It's a lot smaller than what I'm used to. It's nice to get back into the ER. I do miss labor and delivery though. Labor and delivery are much happier times. Not sure if I'll go back to labor and delivery while I'm in Washington. It really depends on how long Ryan will be stationed here. If it's a year or 2 then I'll stay in the ER. The people in the ER are really nice. I haven't so much connected with anyone quite yet where I want to hang out when not at work. It takes time. At least I made friends with a few of the Navy wives. That helps out. They know what I'm going through. I can relate to them. Plus, they live really close which helps also. Ok, so my job is going well. I have friends. A couple weeks ago I finally got my taxes. They seemed like they would never come. Unfortunately, they were gone as soon as I got them. I can't wait until the day I get my taxes and spend the money I something I want. So, I made the decision a few days ago that I'm going to replace the roof on my house. People who looked at my house kept complaining about the roof. They keep forgetting that they're getting $8000 when they buy a house. They can replace the damn roof themselves. Oh well. If a new roof gets my house sold then so be it. Unfortunately a new roof is going to cost me about $5200. I had to go to the Bank of Grandma to ask for a loan. Thankfully she is loaning me the money. Not sure what I would do without her. Ryan's dad, Steve, is going to replace it. He has a crew that he has worked with before, and he says they do a good job. So I guess they can get the job done in 2 days. It should be done next week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is what my house needs to get it sold. After talking to my dad, there's no way I ever want to rent my house. I put a lot of work and money into my house. I don't want some random person coming in and ruining it. Then I would have to put more money into my house to fix what they ruined. So that's what's up with my life. I have a job and friends, and I'm getting a new roof. Let's see. Um, Ryan just started another class with the Navy. Not sure what he's learning in this class. How are we doing? Well, we do argue. It's not the marriage part that's hard, it's the living together part that's hard. We've both been used to living alone for however long. Now we live together and have to learn how to accommodate each other. We need to learn compromise. It's definitely hard. It's a learning process. Some days we want to strangle one another. Other days are fabulous. We'll just take it one day at a time. So on a good note, we went to the Sub Ball last weekend. We got to dress up and let loose. It was so fun. I met some nice people. Ryan was so handsome in his dress blues. I think it's funny they call them dress blues when they're actually black. Either way, Ryan looked good. So I think that's it for now. I'm used to living here. I do miss my friends and family back home. I will be going home next month. I'm pretty excited. Ok, that's it for now. Love you all.

Just keeps getting better
So today was my first day making money. I didn't do much today. I sat through 8 hours of lecture. Tomorrow I think there's more lectures. We might do some computer training also. So, anyways. I am no longer unemployed. It's very exciting. I will have a reason to leave the house. Then in a few months, hopefully my credit card will be paid off. It would be even better if my house was sold at that time, also. I'm not holding my breath. Since taking $2000 off the asking price, I have had more showings. People keep complaining about the roof. I don't know. It's very frustrating. The house is so move in ready. I know things need updated, like the roof, but it's an older home. I don't know what people are expecting. If they want a new house, then go build one. There's no reason someone couldn't move in then fix things later. It's not unlivable. I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. So I got my taxes. They're all gone now. I paid lots of bills with the money I received. It's sad it was so easily used. Oh well. One day I'll be able to use taxes for leisure instead of paying bills. So things keep looking up. I just had to learn patience. I got a job, my taxes finally came, and I'm making new friends every time I turn around. I met another girl today at hospital orientation. Her husband is also in the navy. They live just down the road from us. We are actually car pooling tomorrow to the hospital. Things are good. Now I have to patiently wait for my house to sell. Well, I will be coming home for a week the end of May. My plan is to get a plane ticket from May 27 through June 5. I haven't bought my ticket yet. I will have 2 paychecks by the time I need to buy it. Um, let's see. Ryan still has school every day. He won't be going back out to sea for a while. He will be working on his boat until about October. That's when he'll most likely be reassigned to another boat. His friend is on the Ohio. He might request to be put on that boat. We'll see what happens. Well, I think that's it for now. My first real day of work is April 18. Ryan and I are going to the Navy ball on April 17. That will be fun. Can't wait to dress up. I think I'll wear the blue dress I wore for New Years. I can't afford to get a new one. So I'm still doing my insanity workouts. So basically I work out 6 days a week. Sometimes I want to skip, but I feel better after I do it. Ok, I've gone on enough. I'll talk soon.

Howdy dudy
Update time. There's not much more going on. I start hospital orientation on April 12. So basically the first week I will be sitting in a conference room listening to the big wigs talk for a day or 2 then I think there's a tour of the facility then some computer work. I don't start in the ER until the following week. Then I'll have 4 weeks of orientation in the ER since it's been 1 1/2 years since I've worked in the ER. It will get me back in the swing of things. So I have a showing tomorrow. I'm keeping me fingers crossed. I just have a bad feeling in my stomach that it's not going to sell by the time the first time home buyers thing is over. So I guess what I'm planning for is to take it off the market in May, if the first time home buyers credit ends, find someone to rent it then try and spruce it up some more. It needs a new roof, new windows and sliding glass door, fresh paint on the outside, and some landscaping working in the backyard. That will take some work and money, but if that's what it takes for it to sell, then I need to do it. So someone at the IRS office said I should be getting my taxes on Friday. I really hope when I wake up on Friday and check my bank account, I hope I see my money in there. I have bills to pay darn it. Ryan is still in school. Not sure if he's enjoying it. I know he hates getting up early. I think he hates it because I'm still in bed sleeping. Things will be changing soon enough. I think that's about it. I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter. People who don't have a camera for their computer need to be getting one so we can skype. It's fun and easy. There's no reason not to. Anyways, we love you all.

Happy Days
Well, a couple of days ago, I received some fabulous news. I finally got a job. I will be working at Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale in the ER. It's not strictly nights or days. It's a per diem position which means I pick up hours when they have holes. The manager said with summer coming, there will be several people taking summer vacations. Also, there are 2 RN's who will be going on maternity leave soon. So basically I will have plenty of opportunity to work. I'm hoping to get in some overtime. I have plenty of bills that need paid off. Ryan and I are excited to start saving money, as well. Also, there is another Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. So if all the needs are met at Silverdale, and I want extra hours, I can check the hospital in Bremerton to pick up more hours. I like the per diem because whenever I want to go home I won't have to find someone to cover my shift. I will just let the manager know not to schedule me on the week I will be gone. So I'm still waiting to receive my taxes. I can't believe I still haven't gotten them yet. It's pretty irritating. They would be very helpful right about now since I won't receive a paycheck for another 20 days. I just don't understand what the hold up is. I guess I should have never changed my name. The IRS can't handle it. I haven't had a showing on my house since last week. I'm becoming very nervous about my house not selling. I think I may have to take it off the market and do some updating. If I take it off then relist it, I may get a different realtor. I don't know if it's necessarily her fault that's it's not selling, but I don't like our communication. I have called her and left messages, and she doesn't return my calls. I have to email her to get any response. I emailed her a week ago and haven't had a response. It's frustrating. So now I have only 2 things weighing me down. My taxes and my house. Getting a job as relieved lots of tension for me. Ryan is still in school. He got out of school early today. I will be spending Easter by myself because Ryan has duty that day. I want to go to church. There's a community center that has a Protestant service and Catholic service. I might meet some new people, as well. So other than that, we are all doing well. We miss everyone back home. If you're not on skype, you need to be. Get a camera for your computer. K? Get on it. Alright, love you.
